The Alexandrov Ensemble, commonly known in the West as the Red Army Choir, is the official army choir of the Russian military. Established in the Soviet period, the ensemble comprises a men's choir, an orchestra, and a dance group. The Ensemble has captivated audiences in Russia and worldwide, presenting a diverse musical range from folk melodies, hymns, and operatic arias to popular music. Their repertoire has featured songs like The Volga Boatmen's Song, Katyusha, Kalinka, and Ave Maria. The group bears the name of its inaugural director, Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov (1883–1946). Since 1998, its formal designation has been the A. V. Alexandrov Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army.
