Renee Mauborgne is a French-American business theorist and professor. She is best known as the co-author, along with W. Chan Kim, of the influential business strategy book "Blue Ocean Strategy: How to Create Uncontested Market Space and Make Competition Irrelevant." The book, first published in 2005, has had a significant impact on the field of business strategy and innovation. In "Blue Ocean Strategy," Mauborgne and Kim argue that rather than competing in crowded and highly competitive "red oceans," companies should seek to create new market spaces, or "blue oceans," where competition is essentially irrelevant because they have carved out unique and uncontested market positions. The book introduces a systematic approach to innovation and value creation that has been widely adopted by businesses and organizations worldwide. Renee Mauborgne is a professor at INSEAD, one of the world's leading business schools, and she holds the title of The INSEAD Distinguished Fellow and a chaired professorship. Her work on blue ocean strategy has earned her recognition as one of the most influential management thinkers in the world.
