Formed in the mid-1990s, Morcheeba is an English electronic band that was originally comprised of vocalist Skye Edwards and the Godfrey brothers, Paul and Ross. Their music blends elements of trip hop, rock, folk rock, and downtempo, and they have produced ten studio albums since 1995, two of which have made it into the UK top ten. In 2003, Edwards departed from the band, leading the Godfrey brothers to collaborate with various singers until her return in 2009. They often augment their line-up with extra musicians for live performances and have built a significant international touring history. Paul Godfrey left the band in 2014, prompting Edwards and Ross Godfrey to create Skye & Ross, releasing a self-titled album in September 2016. Morcheeba's latest studio album, Blackest Blue, was released in May 2021, and includes the singles "Sounds of Blue", "Oh Oh Yeah", and "The Moon". The album features collaborations with Brad Barr of The Barr Brothers, and Duke Garwood, whom Edwards referred to as "a diamond geezer".
