Electric Castle has unveiled the inaugural lineup for its ninth edition, with The Chemical Brothers, Iggy Pop, and George Ezra taking center stage as the initial headliners. They will be joined by a diverse roster of acts, including Sigur Ros, Tash Sultana, Peggy Gou, REZZ, Pendulum, and several others, solidifying EC's reputation as a festival that fearlessly explores a broad array of musical genres and trends.

The Chemical Brothers, a missing piece in the EC's repertoire, completes the array of big beat artists that have graced the festival over the years. Not many bands can maintain their popularity while pushing the boundaries of music as The Chemical Brothers have for more than two decades. With six Grammy Awards and chart-topping hits like "Galvanize", "Go", and "Believe", they continue to be ordinary people making extraordinary music for their global fanbase.

In a wave of folk pop euphoria, George Ezra is set to make his Romanian debut at a pivotal point in his career. After back-to-back successful albums, beginning with his breakout hit "Budapest", Ezra is stepping into the maturity phase with his newly released "Gold Rush Kid". 2023 will mark his retreat from the limelight, making his performance on the EC's main stage a must-see event.

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Iggy Pop, who first rose to fame with his band The Stooges and later won a Grammy for his entire career, is gearing up to drop a new album. His first single "Frenzy" is already out and promises fans that his performance at Electric Castle will be one of his best in the past decade.

The festival will also see the return of rock music in its many forms, as confirmed by the Icelandic bands Sigur Ros and Nothing But Thieves. After a ten-year hiatus, the legendary Australian drum and bass band Pendulum will perform again at Bonțida, this time as a highly anticipated live band.

Tash Sultana, a newcomer to the festival, is sure to captivate those unfamiliar with her fresh, reggae and R&B-infused rock style that has catapulted her to international stardom. Despite a last-minute cancellation this past summer, Peggy Gou is determined to join her Electric Castle fans, confirming her appearance at the festival slated for July 19-23, 2023. Rounding out the lineup are Romy, Noga Erez, and the British duo Nova Twins, contributing to the festival's continual emphasis on creative diversity.

Europe's foremost DnB label will also celebrate its 25th anniversary at Electric Castle. The night dedicated to Hospital Records will feature Netsky, Metrik, Flava D, and Anais, showcasing the full spectrum of the genre, from jungle to liquid.
